<p><strong>SYLLABUS</strong></p>
<p><strong>Descrierea cursului</strong></p>
<p><em>Gen şi publicitate</em> este un curs interdisciplinar, care interoghează şi explorează critic  felul în care categoria genului – alături de alte axe ale diferenţei,  precum rasă, clasă, etnie, sexualitate etc. – influenţează locurile,  rolurile şi reprezentările femeilor şi bărbaţilor în diverse contexte  socio-culturale şi din diferite perspective. Prima parte a cursului este  de natură introductivă; vor fi expuse şi discutate conceptele-cheie din  domeniu, motivele pentru care este necesar un astfel de curs în  universităţi, în general, şi în cadrul programei de studii a Facultăţii  de Jurnalism şi Ştiinţele Comunicării, în particular. De asemenea, se  vor discuta/ deconstrui dihotomiile fundamentale din studiile de gen  (sex/ gen, femeie/ bărbat, natură/ cultură, public/ privat, minte/ corp  etc.) şi se va face o scurtă incursiune în istoria mişcărilor femeilor,  trecându-se prin cele trei valuri ale feminismului global, până în  perioada contemporană (“post”feministă?). Partea a doua a cursului  investighează relaţia dintre gen şi mass-media &#8211; felul în care  mass-media produc, reproduc şi contestă roluri, aşteptări şi  stereotipuri de gen şi (Liesbet van Zoonen, Teresa de Lauretis, Daniela  Rovenţa-Frumuşani, Jean Kilbourne). Dezbaterile din această parte a  cursului se vor centra asupra câtorva dintre domeniile predilecte de  analiză şi critică de gen şi feministă, din perspectiva mass-media: corp  şi corporalitate (Susan Bordo, Londa Schiebinger), construcţia limbii  şi a realităţii (Deborah Cameron, Dale Spender, Hélène Cixous), violenţa  împotriva femeilor (Jenny Kitzinger, Catharine A. MacKinnon, Rhonda  Copelon), reprezentare politică (Mihaela Miroiu, Ana Bulai)  cyberfeminism (Donna Haraway).</p>
<p>Cursul se va desfăşura sub formă  de atelier, prelegerile se vor axa în principal pe prezentarea succintă a  reperelor teoretice şi metodologice de analiză şi vor lăsa loc  discutării unor aspecte practice, analizei diverselor produse şi mesaje  mediatice etc. Studentele/ţii vor fi încurajate/ţi să discute şi să  analizeze în mod critic atât instrumentele teoretice, cât şi mesajele  mediatice specifice fiecărei teme. În cadrul tuturor întâlniri de curs  se vor discuta analize media existente (româneşti şi străine) şi se vor  realiza analize din perspectivă de gen asupra diverse mesaje mediatice  şi publicitare (articole din presa scrisă, buletine de ştiri radio şi  TV, printuri şi spoturi publicitare).</p>
<p>Cursul este menit să ofere o  imagine globală a fenomenului mediatic şi a complexului de imagini şi  reprezentări de gen pe care mass-media şi publicitatea le construiesc şi  le difuzează. La sfârşitul cursului, studentele/ţii trebuie să fie  capabile/i să identifice şi să analizeze în mod critic stereotipurile de  gen prezente în mesajele mediatice (presă scrisă, audiovizual,  publicitate).</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Obiective</strong></p>
<p>Obiectivul principal al cursului este dezvoltarea capacităţii de  percepere şi înţelegere a problemelor legate de dimensiunea de gen (ca  una dintre categoriile ) a societăţii în general şi a practicilor de  comunicare (interpersonală, publică, de masă) în particular. Acest lucru  presupune:<br />
- studentele/ţii trebuie să cunoască şi să înţeleagă termenii şi  conceptele fundamentale din studiile de gen, cele mai importante  dualisme/ dihotomii ale teoriilor feministe, câteva aspecte esenţiale  din istoria (herstory) mişcărilor femeilor;<br />
- studentele/ ţii trebuie să fie capabile/i să identifice stereotipurile de gen prezente în mass-media şi publicitate;<br />
- studentele/ţii trebuie să fie capabile/i să deconstruiască/ explice/  critice aceste stereotipuri din perspectivă istorică şi contemporană;<br />
- studentele/ţii trebuie să fie capabile/i să construiască/ creeze  discursuri non-discriminatorii (publicitare, de presă, politice etc.)</p>
<p>Sensibilizarea şi educarea studentelor/ţilor (viitoare/ori  profesioniste/işti în publicitate, relaţii publice, comunicare politică,  mass-media) vizavi de chestiunile legate de gen, cât şi înzestrarea  acestora cu noţiunile şi conceptele teoretice şi abilităţile practice  necesare pentru a percepe şi a interpreta corect diferitele aspecte de  gen din cadrul manifestărilor comunicării sunt esenţiale în formarea  unei societăţi deschise.</p>
<p><strong>Cerinţe</strong><br />
1. O cerinţă extrem de importantă este participarea activă (şi  informată!) la discuţiile din cadrul cursului. Acest lucru este posibil  dacă vă pregătiţi pentru curs şi citiţi cu atenţie (şi în mod critic)  textele din bibliografie. Textele trebuie citite ÎNAINTE de cursul  pentru care sunt programate discuţiile pe tema respectivă.<br />
2. Fiecare student/ă trebuie să iniţieze şi să conducă o discuţie de  seminar. Această activitate implică şi prezentarea unui text din cadrul  celor programate pentru seminarul respectiv, DAR nu se limitează la  prezentarea de text (de exemplu, studentul/a poate lansa câteva  întrebări sau teme de discuţie pe marginea textului prezentat).</p>
<p>3.  Produsul final al acestui curs va fi o revistă ale cărei titlu,  conţinut şi format vor fi stabilite în cadrul cursului. Fiecare  student/ă va fi evaluat/ă pe baza contribuţiilor la realizarea acestei  reviste.</p>

Lucrare de semestru + prezentarea acesteia: 50%</p>
